Ralph Lambert writes his fiction books under the pseudonym Colin Welles. Ralph was President of his class at University of Florida Gainesville, and was appointed by the governor to be a member of the committee which determined how to integrate UF.
Upon graduating, he became an officer of the U.S. Navy for over four years. After attending Thunderbird Graduate School of International Business where he graduated second in his class, he worked for twenty-two years for Citibank in international banking and finance. He then became General Manager of an asset management company in London - an affiliate of Société Générale de Surveillance in Geneva, Switzerland.
After leaving Citibank, he was a consultant for the Ford Foundation and the United Nations on international debt restructuring in Nigeria and the Philippines. He also led seminars in International Trade Finance for Money Magazine, was on the New York faculty of the National Law Review as well as serving as an expert witness on the same topic.
In 1991, he was asked to become General Manager of a finance and stock brokerage company owned mostly by the Privy Purse in Bangkok, Thailand. Additionally, he was a consultant in both credit analysis and international trade finance for several Thai banks.
He retired to Western North Carolina in 1995. He has been active in several non-profit organizations in the Asheville area.
Mr. Lambert has been an active traveler internationally for his entire adult life; working, living and traveling in over 100 countries on all seven continents. He maintains his interest in international travel, writing and flower gardening.
